It's been pointed out to me that the introduction to the Texas Jigsaw Killer page on Ruud's website starts "The combination of Jigsaw & Killer Sudoku must drive you mad. It immediately reminded me of an old horror movie."
The site's picture link to the TJK page actually shows a circular saw blade and a couple of fingers.
Andrew,
Thanks a lot for pointing this out. Why did I not see this myself
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film is from 1974, so when Ruud introduced the Texas Jigsaw Killer in 2006, you could say that a film made some 32 years earlier is an old horror movie.
The first part of the the Saw film franchise is from 2004, so it cannot be called an old horror movie.
The picture Ruud uses is however a part of a poster for the Saw II film from 2005.
Here some images at imdb:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0432348/mediaindexMy personal conclusion is that the name "Texas Jigsaw Killer" is a pun on "Texas Chainsaw Massacre".
