but, I had to guess and I hope that someone will teach me how to do this properly.

Attached is an image of the Daily Hard Killer Sudoku Puzzle, dated 26th July 2023 from puzzlemadness.co.uk. I am clearly moments away from solving the puzzle and all numbers placed are obviously correct. The problem is this: Other than a 50/50 guess, I cannot figure out what the next move should be. Any suggestions?

Tricky to see! Look at the consequences of permutations from the 12(3)r5c9
details:
r6c24 from {126} so must have 1 or 6
-> 12(3)r5c9 can't be [561]
-> r6c8 = 7, r56c9 = {23}
This one gets a score of 0.90. I'll edit the code in later.

Here's how SudokuSolver went at the "I solved the puzzle..." spot. I looked for something like that but missed it. Well done to SS!
SS final step:
"45" on r6: 2 remaining outies r5c49 = 5 = [23] (only permutation)
