You can also find this thread in the enjoysudoku forum, where there are more participants, including Para himself.

Para pointed out there that we can go to the website of the original creator (Naoki Inaba) to find a mini game of this puzzle genre containing 4 stages with increasing difficulties:

There are also THOUSANDS of interesting logic puzzles and fun logic games there. Mainly in Japanese but often there are English translations of the rules. And if one is clever enough one can often figure out the rules by playing around with those puzzles/games.

Note one needs to install Java Runtime Environment (which is free & safe) to play the applets.
