Managing with the more straightforward kakuros but stuck with how to approach those like the one below. Any help with the first couple of steps would be great. Thanks.

I tried to do this last year but got nowhere. I just thought to try it as a twin killer i.e. no repeat in rows or columns, but there are still massively multiple solutions. There is a constraint missing. Not Non-consecutive given the 17(2). Not Remban given the the horizontal and vertical 38(8)s. Any other ideas? |
