One of the three moderators over at the "Sudoku Players' Forums". :study:

He used to be pretty active here, but I have not heard from him in a while. Sent him a PM some time ago, which is still in the outbox, i.e. he has not read it yet.
Hopefully, he is OK.

Here in the Samurai topic there are also the threads "Glyn Samurai #1" and "Glyn Samurai #2". He was looking for Samurai puzzles not solvable using logic only, hence the naming. And preferably puzzles more difficult than Ruud's (in)famous "Ronin Samurai-X".

Glyn Samurai #3 just popped up during the creation of the Regular Samurai #57 puzzles, so I just decided to post it and continue the numbering.

Hopefully this answers your question(s).

For a 1 word question .... Your answer flooded me, thanks

I have posted 1 similar one in the past (Samurai 40) ....

I have some experience in generating difficult puzzles .... Vanillas are my specialty ... For Samurai, I haven't tweaked my solver to handle all of this & I would expect it to perform poorly.

The way in how this progressed previously was to get NO singles in the start .... Then reach a no simple technique in the start to finally guessing from the start.

Back in 2006 (>3 years now) , one of your countrymen "vidarino", posted a monster puzzle in player's forums that got the ball rolling in that direction.

I know who Glyn is. It was strange to me that you started a post having his name in it.

From a 1 word question I personally have a hard time grasping exactly what the questioner wants to know.
But that might be a gene deficit I have .....

I noticed, and a very good one. So your solver seems to do an excellent job. When I eventually some 15 years from now hopefully become a pensioner, I might try solving it using forcing chains and/or nets.
