Hi folks!

For quite some time there have been no feedback what so ever regarding the Regular Samurai puzzles. From the number of views it looks like there are some 30+ people that try the puzzles. What I would like to know is:

1) Are anybody solving the Novice level puzzles?
If by the end of November no one has said that they actually try the Novice level puzzles, I will stop making them.

2) Are anybody trying the Master level puzzles?

3) Any wishes or anything that tarek and I should do differently?

To save time, I'll reply regarding all three puzzle types here.

I'm trying the Apprentice level first, but if that proves too difficult, I'll drop back to the Novice. I have one of your Regular Clueless Specials that I'm working on now (I went as far as I could on that other one after the Naked Quad, but now I'm stuck again), and I'll also try a Regular Clueless Explosion and a couple of the Regular Samurais (one of yours and one of tarek's) and get back to you.

Maybe someday. . . I save them anyway, hoping that I'll eventually be able to work my way up to them.

I think y'all are doing a great job! :applause: :salute:

enxio27,
Thanks for your feedback. When time allows, I will continue to do at least Novice, Apprentice and Master level puzzles.

Based on the rating you can HERE find an overview of required solving techniques for the Apprentice level puzzles.

I've stayed caught up on Samurais....#27c was an excellent puzzle, and just about the highest level of difficulty that I would enjoy solving.

#27C is a real challenge, so my congratulations on solving it ... unaided I presume.

Unaided indeed! I found
Hidden Text:
the goodies in grids 2 and 5
in a reasonable amount of time, but I got stuck for quite a while before finding the important
Hidden Text:
skyscraper in the center grid.

I particularly liked
Hidden Text:
the simultaneous, slightly different kites in grid 2 that eliminated 1 and 8 from the same cell
-- I don't think I've run into that particular formation before.

I've seen that before, which is why I figured I OUGHT to be able to handle the Apprentice level, but as you've seen before, sometimes a move that SHOULD be easy (or so I think) will catch me out. At least an occasional Novice level would be nice for a break, though.

@jsmif:
Your enthusiasm for #27C caused me to try this puzzle today.

Here my mini-mini Walktrough:

I also really liked it, especially the two simultaneous Two-String Kites in g2 causing the eliminations {18} from cell g2:r1c2.
The goodies in g5 are not needed.
