There are three difficulties to choose from.
All three puzzles have the same solution.

A) Apprentice (mainstream edition).
B) Master (56 Intersections, 2 Naked Pairs, 1 Naked Triplet, 1 Naked Quad, 1 Uniqueness Test 1 in g7, 2 XY-Chains up to 5 links in g7). Select to view GRID numbers.
C) Guru (77 Intersections, 3 Naked Pairs, 5 Naked Triplets, 2 Naked Quads, 1 Hidden Pair, 1 Skyscraper, 4 Turbot Fishes, 4 Grouped Turbot Fishes, 2 XY-Wings, 1 XY-Chain up to 5 links).

I've fallen several weeks behind, Børge -- summer vacations and all that -- but I am still working through these and enjoying them.

For #8b, I guess I found a different uniqueness move than jsudoku did, because it solved the troublesome grid entirely, no additional chains required. Freeing up some additional time for me to move right along to #9....

You are absolutely correct.
The 2 XY-Chains can be replaced with 1 Uniqueness Test 3 or 4. I originally placed the Uniqueness Test solvers after the Chain solvers, but have later decided to place the Uniqueness Test solvers before the Chain solvers. See "Børge's Corner" for details.
