I hope you have noticed that using cloaked text I now for the Clueless Master versions have started to provide information on in which grid an advanced technique is required. When you cannot advance the solving using basic techniques, you now can find out in which grid to look for an advanced technique.
This week I took a train trip and was during that trip going to due some programming and document writing. Unfortunately I ended up sitting next to a person with a pretty load and shrill voice talking for hours with someone on his cellular phone. Hence serious concentration was a problem, so I opted for creating Clueless Special puzzles.
I attempted my very best to create at least one puzzle somewhat similar to Regular Clueless Special #5C. In more than 20 attempts I unfortunately did not succeed. Getting a high number of Intersections, Naked Pairs, Naked Triplets and Naked Quads without also catching some advanced techniques seems to be very rare.
By studying a puzzle carefully I can sometimes manually eliminate most or all of the advanced techniques required at the cost of loosing only a few of the interesting basic ones. Sometimes however eliminating advanced techniques results in the complete loss of all Naked/Hidden Subsets.
Below are the 7 best results from my creation attempts. Two of them each require a single advanced technique, but I have provided cloaked text telling both in which grid and for what digit the advanced technique is required. On the paper none of them are as difficult as Regular Clueless Special #5C, but that is only on the paper. They should all be pretty difficult and it should hopefully take you at least 1-2 hours to solve each of them.
