Post subject:  Distinct Partition Puzzle
New concept: Place 1 through 6 in the cells so each appears once in every row and column. The entries in each cage must be DISTINCT and sum to the clues when one is given.

Here are some small easy versions of the same basic style. Each row and column contains all the numbers 1 through 4, no cage contains duplicate numbers, and the numbers in a cage sum to a clue whenever a clue is given.

Hi David
These are a return to the past we did quite a few Zero killers in the early days. A zero killer either has cells outside cages or cages with no sum given (i.e. not repeat in the cage- called zero cages).
Though I cannot remember anyone doing it on a Latin Square.

Note your zero cages are not required for a solution.

Hi Maurice,

It might be too hard in the 4x4 case to really use the zero cages. So much gets determined quickly. Thanks for letting me know though. It definitely gets used in the bigger ones.
