I've tried a couple of times to work these puzzles, but I keep coming up with multiple solutions for each of them. Am I making a mistake somewhere? I don't know of a software program I can put them into to test them out. These are puzzles from the now-defunct Sudoku Magazine's Sudoku Mix #1:

This solves without pencil marks - JSudoku gives a unique solution (Select NC and enter consecutive bars with shift | or shift -)

My common mistake is to mistake a consecutive bar - particularly across nonets. I'm surprised by the multiple solutions these normally go wrong by having no solution.

I think I figured out my problem. There's a constraint that I wasn't aware of, namely, that if there is NO bar between two adjoining cells, the numbers in those cells CANNOT be consecutive. Off to try again. . .
