I was on sudocue.net earlier today, but now I get "Server not found" errors for that site, sudopedia.org, and sudokuvault.com. Anyone have a clue (as contrasted with a guess) as to what's going on, or whether this is temporary or permanent?

I had really hoped to save his solving guide and sudoku file format page before he pulled the plug. I also hope someone managed to save the material from sudopedia.org, as well.

It's up now. Probably some maintenance was done on the server.

There are tools to download an entire site. Google for something like "download browse offline".

SudoCue.net is there but the forum seems to be gone? FOR GOOD?

http://www.sudocue.net/forum/index.php now replies:

It does that every now and then--it's a server error that has to be fixed on the host's end (not Ruud's). However, if, as I suspect, Ruud isn't monitoring Sudocue any longer, there is no one to notify the host that it needs to be fixed.

What I "often" have seen when visiting SudoCue are SQL errors due to too much traffic, i.e. temporary insufficient resources on the server.
This is however something else. Now a database table is invalid/crashed. A simple restart of the forum should correct the problem ... if Ruud is monitoring, which he probably is not.

Hmmm. . . The error messages look just like ones I've seen before. In any case, everything appears to be fixed now except the forums (and the error message on the forums is different from what I saw earlier). Maybe Ruud is keeping an eye on things after all?

I'm afraid you're right, enxio27. The main site is still on, the archives are still reachable, which probably means the database is working. But the forum is unreachable due to forum-specific database table corruption. The hosting service could probably restore the database from a backup, but they won't do unless Ruud ask them to do so.

Hmmmmm. . . . Very interesting! The forums at sudocue.net are back up! I did send Ruud an email the other day alerting him to the forum crash, but haven't gotten a reply, and wasn't even certain he was still monitoring that email address any longer. Nothing else new on the site right now, though. I wonder what this means?

Very interesting observation. Thanks for the info.
