Hi George Very killer-ish this variant. Looks like there is a hidden triple in c4 40(7)r3456789c4 = {14/23}{56789}: ie must have 6,8,9 -> hidden triple 6,8,9 in r568c4 ={689} only -> r7c4 = 7 (hidden single in 40(7)). Cheers Ed |

Hi Ed, Nice spotting. Makes perfect sense to me. Will use your clue and proceed from there. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out and how prompt your response was. I guess there are those that still watch this forum. It is too bad that the sudoku craze, at least here, has waned. I also wish that Ruud had "unlocked" his clueless helper before he left. I just love his program for samurai puzzles, but one cannot save progress. Having changed computers, my key is not longer valid. I have written him a couple of times, but have never received a response. Seems that someone would have been able to reverse engineer the program to remove the "lock" on it. He went to all that trouble for $5. I would have paid more to have it unencumbered for ever. Again thanks so much for you help, Ed. Regards, George |
