Hi Richard

I have started using Safari as my browser, but on this forum with Safari I find that tiny text is not that tiny! It is smaller than ordinary text but is still readable.

I don't think it is just a Safari problem as on Sudocue and DJape tiny text works the same for Safari and IE, whereas here IE is OK but Safari is different.

This is not a problem for me - I can easily ignore WTs and solutions in small text but just thought you might want to know.

Elaine

Tiny text sucks. The [hide]/[collapse] feature is the way to go! Not only is it more convenient to view (just a simple press of button instead of to open a new Notepad/Word/other word processor window to copy & paste), but you can include pics/links/code boxes in there to supplement your messages (you can also add links to the tiny text, but they got shrinked and become very hard to click). It is simply the best way to present a walkthrough as a potential spoiler. :ugeek:

To use the [hide] feature, just highlight your text and click the "hide" button near the top of your "message body" window. Alternatively enclose your text with the [hide] & [/hide] tags.

If you want to add a subject heading in your hidden box, enclose your message with the [collapse=???] & [/collapse] tags, with ??? as your subject heading. Note unlike the [quote] tags you don't need to use the "quote marks".

Pity these info aren't included in the BBCode FAQ in here:

faq.php?mode=bbcode

:rambo:

Same problem for me since I also use Safari.
PS data in tiny text isn't tiny at all, it is quite wide indeed.

The problem is due to the change of the text size in phpBB. It's now expressed as relative font size (percentages) instead of absolute font size. For relative font size , it seems Safari will use a minimum font size.

I don't use Safari, but your post reminded me that I had installed it not too long ago. Took it for a spin, and can (as expected) reproduce the problem, exactly as in Jean-Christophe's screenshot.

One problem with the lack of tiny text is that the puzzle definition strings make the page very wide, so one has to scroll right to reach the "Quote" button, for example.

I also notice that the text in CODE blocks is also quite a bit too small, as shown in this screenshot:

IMO, it would be better to use "hide" and "pre" buttons for solutions / candidates. It doesn't make the page wider unless you show the content.

Code: select & paste into solver (using "hide" and "size=10")
