Richard,

Many, many thanks for setting up this forum!

Look forward to moving across here from sudocue.net as soon as possible, and to posting here on a frequent basis.

P.S. If there were an "applause" smiley, I would have used it above, and if there were a "wink" smiley, I would have used it in order to hint that we may need some more smiley packs installed!

Many thanks from me too Richard!

And I agree with Mike, one cannot have enough smilies!

I have a small suggestion. I think there should be a subforum for other puzzles (like Windoku Killers).

Richard,
Big thanks from me also for taking on this effort. Starting this Thursday (April 24th) I will post my puzzles both here and on SudoCue.net. End of May I will drop SudoCue.net and post them here only. Even if Ruud returns I will not go back to SudoCue.net. Since I now can create my own puzzles and tailor them to the liking of the community, and make additional puzzles for myself tailored to my personal taste, I do not need Ruud anymore.

ONE QUESTION:
Should I post all my puzzles (CE, CS and Samurai) in the subforum "Gattai Puzzles" or will you create subforums for each variant? IMHO the latter would be the best.

TWO WISHES:
Having an avatar would be nice!
I sorely miss my Viking helmet!
EDIT: As you can see I've fixed the helmet Image

On that subject, what about automatic user ranks (e.g., "Newbie", "Master", "Guru", etc.) based on post counts?. Also, an associated rank image would be nice (i.e., like the colored bar displayed directly below the user's rank on Ruud's site).

P.S. Hope the forum database will soon be (or already is) backed up on a frequent basis!

P.P.S. Tip for other users (if your browser can handle it): Try switching over to the "Prosilver" board style in the UCP (User Control Panel). Looks real cool! 8-)

Great idea. What about giving "early birds", i.e. people who register this month a bonus rank, and announcing this at SudoCue ?

That would be the responsibility of Richard's provider Qbic.

Richard,
What about grabbing the domain sudokusolver.info and linking the forum directly to it, so that you can reach it directly at www.sudokusolver.info.
www.rcbroughton.co.uk/sudoku/forum is a bit cumbersome.

It is a shame we have to man the lifeboats from Sudocue. The Titanic sank on 15th April 1912, I wonder if this website was set up on the anniversary as the first post was on the 16th April. :)

Thanks for rescuing us.

Hi All

welcome on board (no pun intended) :salute:

You'll have to bear with me while I get things up and running - at least we have a home. It'll take me a little while to get things set up the way we want it - please feel free to keep up with the comments.

Maybe sudocue.net will spring into life again and this is a real temporary home - until then, I'll do my best to get this place into order. ;)

Rgds
Richard

Thanks, Richard.

BTW, it now looks like there are a LOT of :) emoticons! (I didn't realize that my Mom had created one from one of my old pictures: :dude: )
