Hi All

been doing a little more work on the software regarding Gattai puzzles

I've bumped the version up to 3.6.1 - latest version available here: http://www.rcbroughton.co.uk/sudoku/SudokuSolver.msi

Changes in this version

Fixed a glitch in batch solve mode not updating window correctly
Added separate colouring options for Clueless, Overlapping and Special cells in Display Options
    Added support for Futoshiki puzzles
    Added support for LatinSquare puzzles
    Added support for Girandola pattern
Fixed unhandled exception in Print dialogue when printing multi-grid puzzles
Added support for Ninja Gattai layout

Rgds

Thank you so much, Richard! Can't wait to try this new version!

UPDATE: I LOVE this version!!! :bouncy: :salute:

The multi-grid printing issue is really and truly fixed, and my multi-grid puzzles have colored overlapping areas!! And with the addition of Girandola and Ninja, I'm in "hog heaven"!

One more little minor printing niggle: When printing "current grid" from a multi-grid puzzle, it numbers the grids starting with 0 instead of 1, so the numbering in the header is incorrect. (I run into this frequently when I mess up a grid badly and reprint it rather than killing an eraser.) They are numbered correctly when printing "all grids", however.

Out of curiosity, what is the status on adding user-defined extended puzzle types?

I'll take a look at this. Doesn't sound like it should be too difficult to track down.

Ah yes . . . I'd put that to the back burner. I guess I need to dust it off and put some thought into that one.

That would be awesome! :D

Is there any possibility of adding an export-to-image function to SudokuSolver? .PNG would be ideal, but .JPG would be ok, too.

If you are interested in just what you see on screen in a single grid, the feature is already there. If you Copy (or Ctrl-C) you will get a Bitmap image on the clipboard. If you go to a graphics package and choose Paste (or Paste As and choose Bitmap) - you'll have a BMP image of the grid.

If you want to go for a multi-grid - I tend to use an Image Printer driver and just choose to Print to that device and have it create the graphic file. This one http://code-industry.net/imageprinter.php is freeware.

Hmmm. . . I'll look into it. Thanks!

UPDATE: That works, but I wish there were a way to "print" just the puzzle itself, instead of the entire page, to an image file, so I don't have to crop it.

Hi Richard,

Is there a way to only display the puzzle grid and the controls under it and not all the stuff to the right? For example in a single 9x9 jigsaw grid, the extended stuff to the right is what I want to be able to hide (not display). Is this possible?

Thanks,
George
