As some of you know, installing SudokuSolver requires the installation of MicroSoft's .NET Framework. I've installed .NET Framework before, and it was a huge headache. Now I've had to reinstall Windows (XP Pro, SP3) on my machine and need to install the .NET Framework again. Would someone please give me a step-by-step on just what I NEED to install, and in what order? I have the following (all full install/redistributable packages, not "bootstrap" or "kicker" files):

.NET Framework 1.0
.NET Framework 1.0 SP3
.NET Framework 1.1
.NET Framework 1.1 SP1
.NET Framework 2.0
.NET Framework 2.0 SP1
.NET Framework 2.0 SP2
.NET Framework 3.0
.NET Framework 3.0 SP1
.NET Framework 3.5
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1
.NET Framework 4 Full
.NET Framework Cleanup Tool
.NET Framework Setup Verifier
Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe
XPSEPSC-x86-en-US.exe

I also saw a reference to .NET Framework 3.0 SP2 but couldn't find a download link for it. In addition, I have the following, but now I don't remember whether I needed them for .NET Framework or something else:

NDP1.1SP1-KB867460-X86.exe
NDP20SP2-KB958481-x86.exe
NDP30SP2-KB958483-x86.exe
NDP35SP1-KB958484-x86.exe

Also, is there a way to automate this process (at least somewhat) using a batch file or something?

I'll double check - but SudokuSolver should only need Net Framework 2.0 - which should be covered if you install the latest Net Framework package.

Again, i'll check - but I think as long as you install 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 that will suffice - you shouldn't need to install all the versions.

Thanks, Richard! I finally got a reply on the .NET Framework forum--ver3.5 is fully cumulative (unlike previous versions), so all I had to do was install that! WHEW! It's so AWESOME not to have to go through that NIGHTMARE install again like I did last time! Before, I had to install 1.0, 1.1, 2.0. 3.0, AND their respective service packs, rebooting after each, in order to get it to work. :pallid: I think I had one of the later service packs not install properly, so I had to uninstall EVERYTHING, run a .NET Framework cleaner tool, and start all over again!
