I believe it was Ruud that had a program with the subject name some 8 or 9 years ago. His program would generate puzzles like the attached picture. Does anyone still have the software program that he had available?

If so post a message and we can figure out how I can get a copy.

Please use lovefreecell at yahoo.com

Thanks so much.

Regards and Happy New Year to all,

George

I think that the program you're looking for is called HaniCue. You can still download it from his site:

Hi Enxio27,

Thanks so much for the link. I sure had the name messed up.

Anyway, I do have a question about the puzzle I posted. If you look at the row that starts with the 4th cell from the left on the top row (candidates 246). Now follow the line towards the lower right (246) 3 (456) 7 (268) (2468). The single cell with a 5 candidate in it is a 5, since all rows must have a 5, by definition based on the rules. After eliminating 5s in the corresponding rows, I do not see a path forward. It must be there, but I just haven't found it yet.

Thanks again for the prompt reply with the link.

Regards,
George

Couple of things I noticed with the program. The save option is grayed out. So is the play option. I couldn't find a way to print the puzzles. I guess Ruud never fully developed this program. Sure wish he was still around.

Also, I cannot see a way to print puzzles.

I wonder if there is a later version that was not posted on the website, since I have a stack of these puzzles printed out from before.
