Hi all

I've released a small update to SudokuSolver to version 3.6.2 [edit: now 3.6.3]- available at the usual location http://www.rcbroughton.co.uk/sudoku/SudokuSolver.msi

I've made a few modifications and fixes:
    - Added Argyle Option
    - Added Paste Candidate option to Edit menu
    - Added "Guess" option on Solver menu to show a valid candidate
    - Added "Validate" option on Solver menu to check validity of current grid
    - Added "Save Image" option on File menu to save puzzle as a PNG file
    - Fixed issue importing multi-grid killer puzzles with diagonal constraints
    - Fixed issue on Gattai load/save giving invalid puzzle error
    - Added new Gattai-12 grid option
    - Fixed cell highlighting issue incorrectly extending selection
    - Added option to show/hide right panel in solving mode (use "<<<" button to hide ">>>" button to show)

Thank you for the new innovations, but there are a couple of problems.

When validating puzzles, far too much memory is used, for example I was validating one puzzle which to validate was using over 1gb in memory.

When copying and pasting multi-grid killer sudoku puzzles with any or no restrictions, the rest of the puzzle pastes ok, there are cages in the overlapping parts of the grid, which have the value of x which I can't change.

Awesome, thanks! We appreciate all your hard work, Richard! :applause:  :salute:

Have you given anymore thought to the jigsaw puzzle code format we talked about a while back?

Hi Richard
I now have the opposite problem to 3.6.1! I have a lot of trouble keeping multiple cells selected when using Ctrl + click especially when I then use Right-click to try and create a hidden cage, or lock etc. All the cells I've selected get unselected as soon as I right-click (except the cell I'm right-clicking on). Hope this makes sense. It is very frustrating so will go back to an older version.

Cheers
Ed

Sorry, Ed. Forgot to take out my other "fix" for cell highlighting after I found the "real" fix. Please pick up 3.6.3 which is on the website which - hopefully - fixes your original issue and the new issue.

Can someone help me with this:

The following puzzle was published by DJAPE and is a non-consecutive samurai puzzle. When I select Non-consecutive in sudoku Solver and paste the puzzle in, I notice that pencil marks next to givens that are consecutive are not eliminated. What am I doing incorrectly? I would think that consecutive pencil marks next to a "Big" number would be automatically eliminated, just like any calculated pencil mark would be if no longer valid.

Thanks for any feedback.

Regards,
George
