Post subject:  How do you find XY-Chains?

Is there any trick to easily find XY-chains? To me, it seems like guessing and trying. With some effort, I can find XY-wings (which are the shortest possible XY-chains) without problems but I hardly find longer chains.

Welcome leo! I was sure we already had a "leo" here, but guess not. Perhaps I've been lurking on you somewhere else. ;)

Børge has what looks like a really nice post about that here. I like the way he starts by asking the pragmatic, "gee, it would be good to get rid of that candidate x from that spot, hmm, lets see..."

I mainly do killers so miss out on getting much practice at his suggestions.
