I think I've gotten reasonably proficient at identifying swordfish, but they never seem to eliminate any candidates (at least by the time I find them). Is that anyone else's experience, as well? |

Is that anyone else's experience, as well? Spotting a Swordfish that does not eliminate any candidates is easier than spotting one that does. I have found many Swordfish that have eliminated several candidates.

I usually don't find swordfish until after my second pass through a puzzle. (Same goes for quads and most triples.) By that time, I've already eliminated quite a few candidates with singles, pairs, locking candidates, and the occasional X-wing. Perhaps by that time, there's nothing left for the swordfish to eliminate. |
